It’s almost Valentine’s Day which is pretty disappointing if your boyfriend/girlfiend
forgot to buy you a present/bought you a rubbish one/ doesn’t believe in Valentine's/doesn’t exist. I’m all for a bit of pampering, so I’ve put together a
little list of beauty treats that you can buy YOURSELF. Because if
anyone deserves a treat, it’s you, you saucy minx.
No Budget
Poundland Candles
It has just been Christmas after all. Poundland sell really
nice scented candles for £1 (obvs), which do everything you’d want a scented
candle to do. They burn for about 20 hours, come in a variety of fragrances,
and come in little jars that you can put tealights in afterwards. I like
the vanilla one, it’s a good bedroom scent (wink wink nudge nudge).
Little Budget
Lush Massage Bars
These solid bars of cocoa butter melt on contact with the
skin. They are naturally amazing moisturisers, and packed with essential oils
for aromatherapy purposes. Use them in place of massage oil for a mess-free
massage with your significant other. Alternatively, let it melt in your bath
and treat your skin to a rich moisturising soak. Soft Coeur is a good one,
as it has a melting chocolate heart that one can, ahem, lick of one’s skin. This
prices at around £4-£7.

Medium Budget
Get a manicure. This sounds oh-so Legally Blonde of me but
for £10-£15 you can usually get a good buff, shape and polish that will last
for a couple of days. It’s a small thing, but it always makes me feel a tad
more sophisticated. Plus, I love the
mango hand cream that the technician gives you after it, it smells like Soleros. If you want to spend
an extra £5-£10 go for Shellac or a similar gel treatment which will last for a
couple of weeks.
Big Budget
Aromatherapy Associates Bath and Shower Oil
Coming in a variety of fragrances from Revive: Morning to
Relax: Deep, there is an oil to suit whatever your needs are. These are essential
oils at their finest, and the scents really do have a profound effect on your
mood. Put a cap of oil in your bath, smooth on your body before showering or
use as massage oil. The essential oils are mixed with coconut oil, so they can
be applied straight onto the skin. You can buy a large bottle for about £37; I
like the set of 10 small fragrances for £30, as you get more choice.
Biiiiiiig Budget
Lush Spa Validation Facial
Go get a facial! If you have a larger budget, what better
way to pamper yourself than by getting a treatment? This facial is absolutely
tailored to your individual needs using beautiful fresh Lush products and
involves a full treatment and massage. What I love about the Lush Spa is that
the whole experience is so special, from the moment you step into the country
cottage-inspired Spa rooms, your skin’s every need is taken care of. This
facial is designed to have a transformative effect on your body AND mind, so it
should make you feel gorgeous inside and out. Priced at £75.
